The Confucius Institute of the State of Washington will organize the preliminary competition for the 13th “Chinese Bridge”- Chinese Proficiency Competition for College Students. The detailed information about this competition is as follows:
1. Hosts: Confucius Institute of the State of Washington
2. Sponsors: Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban)
Part 1 – Chinese language proficiency: Participants are expected to deliver a 3-mins prepared Chinese speech. The topic should be chosen from the selected topics which will be sent to all participants after registration.
Part 2 – Knowledge of China: Participants are expected to answer 5 Chinese culture-related questions. To prepare this section, participants can refer to the relevant questions
Part 3 – Chinese cultural skills: Chinese songs, dance, folk arts, acrobatics, musical instruments, calligraphy, paintings, paper-cutting, Chinese martial arts, and etc.
♦To encourage students’ participation, contestants may choose to participate only one or two parts. However, only those who perform in all three parts are eligible for the top-three rewards.
College students or postgraduates under 30 years of age, non-Chinese citizen, born and raised out of China, non-native Chinese speakers.
